300 kms from 100 Mile House.
That's actually not very far.
So we decided to head out on Sunday morning. We made our first stop at the Wells Hotel to drop off our stuff. What a funny little town Wells is! Ha! Sorry, no pics of that town. But an excellent place to stay should any of you decide to go to Barkerville.

We went for a ride on this Royal Stage Coach. We sat on the top in the back. Many subsequent pictures taken from that viewpoint.

Gold panning. We each found 5 flecks of gold! And we got to keep them! We're rich!! :)
The man who taught us how to pan for gold. To paraphrase him:
"The first thing you need to do is fill your pan with water and swish it around. The second thing you need to do is smile. If you smile while you pan for gold, the gravel leaves the pan faster getting you closer to the gold."

We also attended the Royal Theatre on Sunday night for the British Musical. It was AMAZING!! We laughed so hard - our cheeks were hurting by the time we got out! I would go to Barkerville again just to see that show.
Barkerville's such a GREAT place to visit! It took me over 30 years to get there once. It won't take me that long to go again!

I still remember when we went years ago and can't wait to go again when the boys are older. Great photos, glad you guys had a good time. Russ, you fit right in. All you need is a horse!

These photos bring back so many memories of our trip to Barkerville. We followed the goldrush trail from Lillooet up the canyon to Barkerville. We camped in the campground there.Kids had so much fun. Happy that you still enjoyed it again Russ. Hugs Mum
