One Year!

I feel kinda bad that it's taken me over a week to share a post on Eva's turning ONE.  We had a pretty low-key birthday party for Eva which included the basics: balloons, cake and presents.  What more does a one-year-old need?  Russ' parents came out and my cousin Candace came for the little party.

Here's what the birthday girl did on her big day:

walked around with her walker

put on necklaces with big sister

trip to the playground

opened presents
notice the little silver bracelet she's wearing. This one once belonged to Russ' aunt when she was a babe.  Akeyla has the one that belonged to Russ' mom.

ate cake!

Here Akeyla is sporting a side pony-tail/braid, just like Candace's. :)

Eva-Girl: this has been a pretty eventful year.  We sold our home in 100 Mile House, moved to Lumby, your daddy started a job as a Youth Pastor, we discovered the coarct in your aorta, you had heart surgery and sailed through all these things like a star.  I can't imagine a more content and easy-going baby to experience all these things with.  You have made this year a complete treasure!  We love your hearty giggles, your silly fake laugh, your joy in your big sister, your snuggles, your determined little personality.  We are just so glad you are in our lives!

Happy Birthday, sweet girl!! Can't believe you are ONE already! Loved seeing all the pictures of you and your sister. Wish I could give you snuggles and hugs. And your Mom too :) Love, Auntie Brenda
